I and my wife last year 2015, in June we visited our daughter working with the Peace Corps international in Rwanda. As we had a long a holiday in this beautiful and smart country we wanted to explore the countries tourist attractions and we wanted to take own pace drive in Rwanda and Uganda, and we were looking for the best service provider to serve us we found the 4×4 Car Hire Rwanda and when we sent in our first email request the best affordable quote Moses the tour consultant replied to us with the very fast response and giving us the best price that motivated us to book with him for our car rental holiday visiting Rwanda and Uganda.
What made our holiday amazing is none other than Moses, from the beginning he elaborated to us how best we can experience our holiday in both countries and our safari was to start from Rwanda but he advised us to use a registered Ugandan car, reason being that there some requirements needed for the Rwandan vehicle to cross compared to Ugandan car, he sent to us the Uganda vehicle from their nearby fleet parking and we paid just simple charge to fuel this vehicle and driver allowances and then we paid a fee as COMESA insurance which is paid by either vehicle to cross to any foreign country.
Still in the email response, Moses helped us to customize our route and it was really amazing as he helped us discover the 2 countries in the route circuit and he advised the best campsites to camp as he provided us the full camping gears and thanks Moses for the wonderful services that he offers you on your trip planning in Africa. Thanks Moses and his team, Emma who dropped the vehicle to us in Rwanda at the Kigali International Airport he was so much friendly, our flight landed like 3 pm in the evening and we were so many in Kenya Airline and we took some time clearing for the Visas but he was so patient to wait for us until we came out to the arrival lounge and we found him waiting for us with the placard reading our names for easy identification as Moses promised us in the email.
As soon as we spot him he was so jolly to welcome us in Rwanda and after as an African man strong enough he carried our bags and moved to the jeep Rav4 4×4 we had reserved with the company and after drove us up to the house where our daughter live and it is from there we did all the paper work signing and make the payment formalities as the company gave us that chance to pay upon arrival and this gave us enough trust to this company not asking us any deposit and reserved the vehicle for us and remember we booked in time.
A day after we begun our travel and our route was so unforgettable as we begun with the visit to the Akagera Game National Park where we experienced the afternoon boat cruise along the Lake Ihema and the evening game drive viewing of the African wildlife species like elephants, buffaloes, water and bush bucks, warthogs and the re-introduced lions with the assistance of a guide-ranger (Timothy) and it is of advise that once you visit this park please take a range and he will help you to spot the wildlife. Dawn game drive is much rewarding with the view of the early riser animals and after you can drive back to Kigali or stay again but us later we had to drive back to Kigali and this we visited to some en-route local markets and craft shops and after back to the home of our daughter.
As it was time for holiday early in the morning drove to Nyungwe Forest National Park and on this way we had very many en-route stop over visiting some of the Rwanda genocide memorials and not forgetting the taste of African dishes, we spent a night in Kibuye town with the experience of the Intore dance and after transferred to the forest and this offers much activities that you can enjoy but our taste was the nature walk in the morning and then canopy walk in the evening and here Gisakura offers the best camping area. Thereafter via the Gisenyi – Lake Kivu we visited Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda but we had 2 days holidays at this Lake and we camped at the Discover Youth Hostel in Gisenyi. Then from Gisenyi it 2 hours drive as you do not forget to respect the driving speed limit for Rwanda (minimum 40 km/hr to 60 km/hr maximum) and our area of interest here were the twin Lakes (Burera & Ruhondo) which offers unforgettable view of the land forms and this places is so much loved by birders and we are in much love of birds and very many species were spotted by my wife and Kinigi, red rocks Rwanda campsite offered us the nice stay.
After being filled with the awesome attractions in Rwanda we visited Uganda and this country again has much to offer that one would not miss to visit, it is in this country you find 2 national parks with both offering the mountain gorilla trekking experience and that at Mgahinga and Bwindi gorilla parks and we took our experience at the Bwindi forest and our experience was so extraordinary amazing as we paid for the gorilla habituation which is a new activity and we came to know such an amazing experience from Moses who explained to us what this mean than the trek, for this experience therefore you spend full day in the mist with the gorillas and the only groups to visit are the Bikingi and Bushaho and for our case we visited the Bushaho family and these are only at Rushaga sector and we camped at Nshongi Gorilla Camp and later we visited the Lake Bunyonyi and our campsite was none other than the Bunyonyi Overland Camp but there other places you can stay even after crossing the Lake.
I really want to appreciate Moses and his team for the good services they offered to us of quality, dependable, well maintained car and the great information that we needed to arrange our unforgettable African holiday!
